Trowbridge town bus service set to continue in the longer term
17 Sep 2015FARESAVER has confirmed that it will continue to run its replacement service for the Trowbridge town bus, after residents made the most of the service during its trial period.
As a result of discussions with Wiltshire Council, Faresaver stepped in at the last minute to provide an alternative service as a commercial venture to replace the popular T1 bus service in Trowbridge at the start of August.
The former T1 bus route was cut after First West of England decided it was no longer commercially viable for it to run the service, leaving people in the Studley Green, Wiltshire Drive and College estate area with no bus service into the centre.
Faresaver bosses urged residents to make the most of the replacement service to ensure the company could continue running it and it has now assured users that service 60 will remain on a long-term basis.
Daniel Pickford, General Manager of Faresaver Buses, said: “Following the operation of the 60 service on a trial basis during August, we are continuing the service on a longer term basis.
The timetable is largely unchanged from the trial period between 8.30am-2.10pm, but some changes have been made to the later afternoon services to work around existing commitments. A 5.10pm departure is also being provided by Libra Travel along the 60 route to Studley Green as part of their 960 service.
