Rail timetable changes this weekend

There will be a number of changes to rail timetables in the Wiltshire area from May 15th.  Some of the main changes affecting local services are outlined below but please check your journey details before you travel.

TransWilts line:

Additional trains, Monday-Friday:

Westbury 12:20 calling at all stations to Swindon (arrive 13:05)

Swindon 13:19 calling at all stations to Westbury (arrive 14:07)

Amended time for last train from Swindon, Monday-Friday:

From Monday 16th May, the last train from Swindon via Melksham to Westbury will depart slightly earlier, at 20:06 instead of 20:12.

The 19:00 from Paddington still connects with this service. However, the 18:47 Paddington to Cheltenham service provides an easier connection at Swindon, avoiding the need to use the stairs or lifts.

Summer Sundays

From Sunday 15th May to Sunday 10th September, there is an additional Sunday morning train:-

Westbury 08:30 to Swindon (arrive 09:19), where there are connections to London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa.

Swindon 09:29 to Westbury (arrive 10:08) where there are connections to Weymouth and Penzance.

Travel to the seaside!

New Summer Saturday trains from Salisbury and Tisbury to Weymouth (Saturdays 21St May until 3rd September; also Bank Holiday Mondays)

Salisbury 0924, Tisbury 0938 to Weymouth arrive 1126

Weymouth 1656, Tisbury arrive 1826, Salisbury arrive 1841

An off-peak day return fare from Salisbury or Tisbury to Weymouth of £10 is being offered, valid only on these services (£15 first class)

Changes to Saturday train times at Bedwyn

Some changes to Saturday train times at Bedwyn from 21st May will affect bus connections to/from Marlborough.
