Park your bike at some South Wiltshire bus stops
02 Feb 2015Bus services in the south of the county are more accessible with people now able to park their bikes at a number of stops.
Five bus stops in the south Wiltshire area have had cycle parking hoops installed by Wiltshire Council with funding from the government’s Better Bus Fund. If this initial cycle parking trial is successful, more parking hoops could be installed in other areas.
Horace Prickett, Wiltshire Council portfolio holder for transport said: “Small improvements like this can make a big difference to people.
“This is a small trial scheme which we hope will prove successful so that we can roll it out to other areas.”
The bus stops where the parking hoops have been installed are at:
- Amesbury – The Centre
- Bulford Bungalows.
- Alderbury Village Hall
- Downton – The Bull
- Woodfalls – The Old Inn
A new solar powered Real Time Passenger Information unit, the first in Wiltshire, is also being installed at the Bull in Downton to replace an older unit.
