Improvements at railway stations

29 Aug 2013

Wiltshire Council and First Great Western have been working together to improve stations in Wiltshire. This is paid for by the government’s Local Sustainable Transport Fund.

An electric charging point will soon be installed at Bradford-on-Avon station. Further charging points will follow at Chippenham, Trowbridge and Westbury stations. Cycle parking is also being improved at Chippenham and Westbury.

A new Brompton Dock cycle hire scheme will soon be installed in the northern car park at Chippenham station. These folding bikes can be carried on trains or you can just hire them for the day if you want to try one out. It’s a great way to cut car parking or taxi costs. The scheme will be operated by First Great Western in partnership with Brompton Dock.
