Free bike checks in Salisbury, Trowbridge and Chippenham
13 Jan 2015This New Year, Connecting Wiltshire and Sustrans, have joined forces to put on a series of events around the county to encourage more people to get on their bikes in 2015.
Starting at the Neeld Hall in Chippenham on the 24th January, before moving on to the Civic Centre in Trowbridge on the 31st January and then ending at the Salisbury Methodist Church on the 7th February, each event will run from 10am until 4pm with a range of family-friendly activities to promote safe cycling.
Attendees will be able to get a free bike check from a local mechanic (there may be a charge for any replacement parts) including tips and advice on good bike maintenance. There will also be security marking from Wiltshire Police, travel advice and information, plus a Sustrans shop with a selection of goods to buy including maps, cycling accessories and clothing.
For those looking for fun ways to keep the children entertained, be sure to check out the smoothie bike and badge maker or why not join a half-hour guided bike ride around local routes, suitable for all ages and abilities. Participants will need to bring their bike along to take part. There will also be some tandems available to try out! Rides will start promptly at 2pm and 3pm at each event.
Spaces for Dr Bike and the led rides will be available on the day but if you want to guarantee your place, please book in advance by emailing connectingwiltshire@wiltshire.gov.uk. Please include your name and telephone number, whether you’re booking onto Dr Bike and/or the led ride, and which location you’ll be attending.
Details of the route for the led ride in Trowbridge on 31/1/15 can be found here.
Look forward to seeing you there!
