Byway improvements in Amesbury
06 Jun 2017Wiltshire Council have just completed work on a scheme to improve a section of Byway 20 in Amesbury.
Byway 20 has been widened and surfaced to make it safer for cyclists and pedestrians. The scheme was funded by the Archer’s Gate development and will accommodate the increased cyclists and pedestrians that are expected from this site.
In the longer term, it is hoped that the byway will form part of a cycle route connecting Amesbury to employment at Porton Down, and providing a long distance predominantly off-road route connecting Salisbury to Stonehenge. A map of the full proposed route can be found on Wiltshire Council’s website .
